Attention, minna-san. This is Kaoru speaking.

Do you want to have fun?

Let me be precise. Do you want to be fun and annoying at the same time?

Then heads up, people! Read on!

Being mysterious isn’t difficult, but it isn’t very easy either. If you just want to have fun, though, it can be very entertaining.

To be mysterious, there are a few things that you need to know. It might take a while for people to notice, but once everyone does, then that’s when the fun begins.

STEP:-

  1. Have an occasional evil smirk on your face to make it look like you’re "up to something". When people ask you what your smirking at, say "nothing", in a manner that suggests you are up to something.
  2. Don’t talk too much. Try to keep to yourself most of the time. Be succinct in your speech — brief, and to the point.
  3. Be evasive. When people ask you questions that are about you, don’t answer the question fully. Leave out large sections and change the subject.
  4. Don’t maintain eye contact. When you are with a group of people, don’t look directly at them. Look near them, but when they look at you, look away quickly in a different direction. When they look at you, look directly at them and speak only using one syllable words [i.e."Yeah," "Okay," "No," "Cool," - those sorts of short words but don't make it look like you're not interested.]
  5. Speak as if you are trying to be secretive. Don’t be specific in your wording. Just behave as if you are trying to say where you were going but don’t say the place where you’re going. Just use head movements and body language movements to show where you are going.
  6. Do simple things that make people wonder what you are up to. Don’t tell them anything and keep walking or working, or doing whatever you are doing.

THE RESULTS:-

Classmates keep giving me the glance. It looks like they were worried of my sanity. And not to mention they never leave me alone. Whenever I felt like being the mysterious lass, someone is sure to be following me around, just to make sure I wouldn’t end up setting the whole building on fire.

My so-called-friends know when to leave me alone, though, except several homo sapien who never seems to get it. *sigh*

Bob went, "Argh! Atiqah! Jawablah betul-betul!"

Zainab went, "Atiqah, saya ada benda tak puas hati dengan awak-" and I started to imagine myself chasing seagulls as she started one of her ramblings.

When I silence myself, Nikochan was troubled and went, "Atiqah, awak ada masalah ke?"

Nik-chan was the best. She smirked evilly, as if knowing 100% what I was up to.

TIPS FOR AMATEUR:-

  1. Occasionally smirk, but make it look sort of evil.
  2. Try to blatantly avoid questions.
  3. Try saying things that simply make no sense at all.
  4. Do things to make people wonder what you are up to.
  5. Don’t speak too much; to be mysterious and secretive, you have to keep your mouth shut.

WARNING:-

  1. This may annoy some people; trust me, I know. Just be prepared to hold your ground, but never reveal to them you were just fooling around if you intend on being mysterious again.
  2. If you’re not in high school, then this specific sort of behavior will probably not make people think you’re mysterious, just odd.
  3. Unless you are actually involved in some sort of evasive or secretive actions, people will think you just want attention.

Above all, enjoy yourself, minna-san!

p/s: When friends lectured you for not paying attention when people were talking, don’t hesitate to spring up into action and defend yourself. Be sure to speak in a low and calm voice. Have your point across, and leave a.s.a.p.

p/s 2: Proceed on your own risk. If you were bashed after fllowing what was posted, I held no responsible whatsoever. Kaoru is.
