“Those who witness no falsehood, and, if they pass by futility, they pass by it with honourable (avoidance).” [25:72]
On the bus trip there…
We had this inconsiderate Indian guy as our bus driver. Highly inconsiderate; he wouldn’t let us stop for Subuh prayer. He even dropped us a little up the entrance of the Jubli Perak Park [our campsite is nearly three kilometers from the spot he dumped us].
He’s lucky I’m too sleepy to swift-kick his pointless thick head.
There’s this very nice Zainuddin-ojisan who lent us the park’s tractor for transporting our luggage to our campsite. Allah bless him.
On the people there…
Tuan Fakarudin greeted us. Still the loud, slightly annoying, highly amusing guy he is. Always calling us ‘orang kampung muallim’ and ‘mek-mek Kelate’. Good thing he didn’t ask whether we brought budu along with us.
I recorded some lines Atiqah used when greeting people:
"You look kinda familiar… What’s your name again?" [She recognized their faces, but not their names.]
"Ah! Muallimah yang pinjam kasut saya masa hari last Kursus Jurulatih 2007! Ape dah name muallimah?" [To which the muallimah replied, "Sampai hati anti..."]
The only people she seems to remember both face and name are Sakinah from Islah Sg. Petani, Syamila from Hidayah JB, Fatimah from Hira’ Jeram, and Nazarah, Mahirah and Farhanah from Hidayah Ipoh.
Hopeless, isn’t she?
She made new friends, of course.
"Ape khabar? Saya Atiqah dari Aman KB."
"Form brape?" [the other will ask]
"Teka."
"Form 2!"
"…"
"Okay… Form 3!"
"Form 5 lah, dik."
[jaws dropped disbelievingly] "Tipu eh…"
"…"
"Tak pe." [the other will pat her shoulder comfortingly] "Awet muda."
On the tuans and facilitators there…
Tuan:
Facilitator:
Any names left out, please excuse me.
On the weather…
The weather’s from heaven, if you know what I mean. Pouring once a day, it was a miracle we didn’t drown in the teh beng-colored water.
The bestest thing ever is that our campsite happens to be in the middle of the ‘laluan air’. Hilarious, isn’t it?
Still, we survived.
On the accommodation…
Us banat set up 4 tents; 2 igloo, a big igloo and an ‘A’ tent.
1 igloo is used for utensils and cooking materials storage, another one for sleeping (fit for 5), the big igloo is for sleeping, and ditto to the ‘A’ tent.
Since it poured like cats and dogs, the pointless ‘A’ tent was filled with water. It’s pointless, really. Atiqah’s bag was soaked on the first night, and she had nothing to wear except her yesterday clothes. Allah bless Amirah Nik Mazian, who lent her hers.
Atiqah is one of the person who slept under the stars for three nights in a row. The first night was freezing her to the vertebra although she had her jacket bind around her tightly.
She woke up every two hour, shivering like crazy.
The second was okay. Must be her body got accustomed to the friendly and amiable blood-freezing breeze.
The third was… annoying. She lent her jacket to some banin for their performance, and he didn’t give it back to her that night. So she spent the night sulking like a stupid baby, burning some innocent leaves, refusing to sleep without her jacket.
She fall asleep, of course, at ++2.40 am, regardless the fact that she had to wake up at 4 o’clock for her hirasah.
Urgh… Next time, she’d be wrapping her bag in ten layers of plastic. And she’d be kicking every pointless ‘A’ tent she had the misfortune to meet. And she promised not to lend her jacket to anyone, EVER!
Note:
On the food…
Mlmh Dayang and Mlmh Hanani cooked for us, though we’ve already made a Cook-on-Duty Rooster. Lucky for everyone Atiqah hadn’t the chance to cook; everyone might get a stomachache. A gut-wrenching one, uhuh.
Needless to say, we had rice, sardine, egg and carrots everyday. The cycle continues, but oddly enough, I wasn’t bored.
Maybe it’s because those two muallimah know how to cook, unlike someone I know.
On the ‘Lawatan Muhibbah’…
Atiqah went to other camps with Sufiyyah tagging along. They went to Hidayah Ipoh’s first, and Atiqah went, "Assalamualaikum, saya datang nak makan selain dari biskut."
Yeah, shameless. The Hidayah kids gave them keropok and water, so it wasn’t that bad. Mahirah and Farhanah was there, so she’s okay with the hospitality.
She met this Nadhirah Anis from … [Amnesiac, again] and they went through a conversation.
[Legend: Atiqah's yellow, Mahirah's blue, Anis's pink]
"Saya Atiqah dari Aman Kota Bharu."
"Form brape?"
"Teka."
"Nama ape dah?"
"Nama dia Kak Tiqah."
"Bertuah punya budak!" Atiqah slapped Mahirah’s shoulder in a friendly way. "Jangan la panggil saya kak, nanti dia tahu!"
"Hahaha." the kid laughed. You are so gonna be BaSeD…
"Form brape?" clueless Anis asked, again.
"Budak ni Form 4." Atiqah gestured at Mahirah.
"Awak form brape?" still asking Atiqah.
Atiqah and Mahirah exchanged a sigh, a pat on the shoulder and a laugh. "Malas lah nak layan awak…"
"Kak Tiqah Form 5."
"Tipu… Jangan la kenakan saya… Banyak kali dah kene tipu…"
"Lol… tak caye sudah~"
[FYI, Anis's Form 3, but she looked like an F4 kiddo] Yeah, and the same conversation kinda repeated itself on their visit to Amin Kemaman and Amin Bangi’s camp.
On the competitions…
Our BaSeD was fine, albeit nervous Atiqah tends to be extra fast and the performance ended within 5 minutes. Uhuh, she’s hopeless alright.
The BaSeD performance from Hidayah Ipoh is highly amazing! I watched with envy! God, it was so very amat-amat cute! [I told this to Mahirah, and she went, "Cute?"]
The kawad was fine. I just have to say this: We lacked teamwork. Some gave it all, some competed half-heartedly. Maybe it’s because of the muddy field, some of us didn’t ‘paras’ our feet. Maybe they didn’t want the muddy water to splash around.
The culture performances from Hira’ Jeram and Amin [Bangi or Gombak? I'm amnesiac] are worth seeing. Amin did this pantomime and a dance. Very entertaining. XD
Hira’ did this song they composed themselves. It was very very entertaining~~
Aman banin was the best!
Umair Othman, Ammar Che Hasyim and Asyraf Nizar sang this ‘Satu Perjuangan’ clad in a songkok and red batik shirt. Then, Munis and Muhaimin came out and started playing in front of them.
Out of the blue, Ali, Iskandar and several ‘Israel armies’ came out, complete with black glasses. It’s a humiliation on my part to admit how cool they looked. They grabbed those two petite midgets and shot them dead.
Several Palestinians came out, throwing rocks at Ali-san and his thugs. All of them was shot dead. One last Palestinian left standing. He tried to throw his rock, but he was, too, shot dead. Before he died, all the Israelis surrendered. [I'll elaborate later]
Everyone froze. Naim came out and recited a poem. It was… the best I’ve ever heard. Filled with passion, it’s not a wonder they won the performance competition.
Ali-san said that, "An army once said that when he saw a Palestinian throwing a rock at him, he felt a very strong murderous aura coming from the small unarmed boy. They were chickened like hell; that’s why they surrendered".
I was amazed, because Ali-san spoke in standard Malay. I thought he can only speak in Kelantanese…
On the trip to UIA, TUDM, TLDM, RM Batik and Satelit Bumi…
Third day was the day us SMIans went for a trip to five different destinations. Atiqah, Khadijah, Hasyimah, Maryam and me happen to be one of the luckiest to visit UIA! *dance the Chicken Dance*
TUDM and TLDM sounds highly exciting, but they’re dead busy. So the
visitors spent little time poking their noses there. After that, they
spent their time at the BOMBA and by the beach.
RM Batik was… batik. -____-”
Satelit Bumi sounds kinda interesting, but UIA’s the coolest, un!~
We went into their museum! God, it’s filled with organs here and there! Sickening for some people, but totally awesome and hawt for me!~
The best part was the Forensic Pathology area. It showcased the real case of accidents [including falling from a height, rape, vehicle crash, fights, guns, etc.]. Bloodied, yeah. So inappropriate for little Maryam’s eyes, yet it’s highly illuminating and informative.
Needless to say, Atiqah was ecstatic with joy.
And needless to say, Kak A’isyah was envious. XD
On the results…
SMI Aman Banin:
SMI Aman Banat:
SRI Aman Banat:
Tasnim K raised the Kelantan flag like crazy whenever beloved Malek-sama announced Aman, Kota Bharu; she nearly knocked Atiqah’s head in the process.
On the trip back home…
There was a minor loophole. Our bus ran into the divider and it jostled up. The ones affected are probably the ones sitting in the back of the bus [all five of five people sitting in the back went flying, uhuh].
Nasibah got stuck between Shamila and Zainab, and she hurt her shoulder muscle.
Atiqah flew [kinda :P] and landed painfully on the seat handle. The blasted seat handle happens to be made of solid metal. It hurts, like hell. Don’t ask; she simply couldn’t sit properly on the bus. She had to hug her knees close to sit comfortably. She also walked with feigned ease after that.
She managed to get a new bruise on her right leg -approximately 4 cm wide, 2 cm high- to add to her collection of bruises.
She sat by the emergency door, and lucky for her, the blasted door wouldn’t close after the bump. It was slightly ajar.
Though the bus driver tied the door close with thick ropes [she nearly burnt the driver with her death-glare. "In case of real emergency, how am I supposed to open the blasted door????"], it still leaks in water when it rains, successful in wetting her pants.
Boy, was she annoyed.
[she was asleep when the water leaked in. She got a rude awakening, that's why she was mad.]
Either way, the rest of us reached Kelantan unscathed.
