Today’s the awaited day. Kaoru waited patiently in front of the canteen, waiting for her mother to conclude her conversation with her class teacher, Hanum-sensei.

She leaned casually on the poorly-painted wall, left hand residing peacefully in her pocket. She turned around and saw her mother getting up. She straigtened her spine and walked towards the smiling lady, nonchalantly nodding and smiling to her teachers in the vacinity.

"So, how was it?" She asked mama.

"You got number 1 for Mid-term Exam." The smiling lady smiled even wider. "Congratulations."

"Yeah." She kind of smirked. "I like number 2 or 14 better, though."

Mama frowned, then smiled and chatted with Ain’s mother who happened to be near her.

Kaoru glanced at her report card. Alhamdulillah, she stared. There’s abundant of room for improvement.

She stared bleakly.

PSI: -13 marks. Okay, I screwed up; big time.

PQS: -9 marks. Okay, two scores to Screws & Co., nil to Kaoru.

Arabic: +3 marks. Oh man!~ I’m soooo getting better!~

Malay: +20 marks. Dude, I’m sooooo proud to be a Malay!~

English: Maintain. Uhuh.

History: -12 marks. Three scores to Screws & Co. I can’t believe this! And to think History is one of my fave subject? This is unacceptable! Study smarter and harder!

Math: +2. Doing good.

Add Math: -2. Better luck next time.

EST: -4. I’m a thrash… No, worse. I should just… d…i… *snaps out of the insanity*

Physics: +12 marks. Oh yeah! I’m cool! I’m sooooo cool!~ Uhuh, uhuh, uhuh!

Chemistry: -2. There’s just no chemistry between us. I just gotta study smarter and harder!

Biology: -3 marks. I could have scored! Looks like Screws & Co. is leading…

She exited the canteen and sauntered towards the patio. Kaoru waited for her mother there. She sat down and hugged her Quran Tafsir given to her by someone significant, staring at the wooden door leading to the two-by-four-meters office.

"Kaoru, how was your result?" A sort of familiar voice asked her. She looked up and beamed at her Arabic teacher.

"Not bad, sensei." She chuckled lowly.

"How was your Arabic?" Halim-sensei walked up towards his bike.

She grinned. "Improving by 3 marks!"

He chuckled lowly. "Did you memorized your essay contents before the exam?"

"Nope. I just mix some words and phrases up." She cocked her head slightly. "Why did you asked?"

"It was improving." He smiled. "Ahsanti."

Suppressing the urge to whoop and sing ‘Unlimited’ on the spot, she beamed, "Thanks a gazillion, sensei!"

"No problem."

p/s: I can hear whispers saying that I’m a stuck-up show-off for posting my Mid-term Exam results on my blog. Well, it’s an encouragement on my part to work harder and better on it. *shrugs*

And to clarify certain doubts. Yeah, I got #1, and I really prefer #2 than the first place.

Oh, and Nikochan got #2. I’m ahead of her by one mark. We’re amazing, aren’t we?

Zainab’s #3, Bob’s #4 [I'm merely presuming], and Nik’s #8. I made a pact with Nik to study group together, but we really haven’t the time.
